Here it is, the moment you’ve all been waiting for: Hilary Duff joins the cast of Gossip Girl! She looks kinda like … Hilary Duff, only on Gossip Girl.

Duff’s character, Olivia, is a movie star trying to live the typical college life. Assigned to be Vanessa’s (Jessica Szohr) roommate at NYU – their dorm room is the setting of the photo below – Olivia gets to know Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley).

Olivia becomes attracted to Dan, and vica versa. Of course, there’s a twist: Dan is so tuned out to pop culture that he doesn’t realize the girl he’s falling for is a huge star famous for her role in a Twilight-esque series of vampire movies.

So that’s like Dan not knowing who Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are. Come to think of it, that sounds kind of like Dan. It just might work.

Hilary has put some weight though. Her arms and hips are fluffy and I really don`t admire her manlike abs. She used to be a delicate, slim girl and I`m thinking: “God, what happened to her?”. Well, maybe the new Hilary ate the old one..Just kidding!

Hilary put it on display in Hawaii where she’s nursing her meltdown with boyfriend Mike Comrie. A mental breakdown almost brought about by Faye Dunaway who got some of her facial staples unhinged when she found out Hilary would play Bonnie in the remake of Bonnie and Clyde (she was the original Bonnie back when she didn’t look like a dog sticking his head out of a racing car).

The 68-year-old actress sniped: ‘Couldn’t they at least have cast a real actress?’

Hilary responded to the jibes by deeming them: ‘A little unnecessary, but I might be mad if I looked like that now’, in reference to Dunaway’s platinum membership card to the plastic surgery society.

As a parting shot, she added: ‘I think that my fans are going to go see the movie don’t even know who she is, so you know…’

Enjoying a weekend outing with loved ones, Hilary Duff was spotted out for a late lunch at Boa restaurant in Beverly Hills on Saturday (June 20).

Walking into the popular eatery alongside boyfriend Mike Comrie, her mom and a friend, the group stayed for quite some time before making separate exits upon finishing their meals.

Hoping to see the founder receive his due recognition, Hilary recently said,“Stan is the man!
